In What Ways Are Women Taking Independence Too Far?

June 16, 2010 - 1:00am - Jennifer Tardy
Dear HEET:
I’ve always been told by my mother that regardless of how independent a woman is, she should always do her best to ensure that her man feels needed. Since the "Miss Independent Era" has surfaced, what are some things that women shouldn't do that could potentially have a negative effect on a man's ego (a feeling that the female doesn't need him) in a relationship?

5 Things the Anxious Single Woman Will Do For Your Man -- That You Won't!

We are the ones holding tight to our man’s hands, or flashing our wedding bands/engagement rings as we pass. Yes, everyone knows that we are involved and that someone loves us. That’s not even to question. We are in relationships with good men, and we are proud of them! We have so much for which to be thankful, yet we are becoming more and more lackadaisical—lazy! We are all too comfortable wearing his pajamas and t-shirts on Thursdays, laying on the couch all day on Fridays, going straight to sleep at night on Saturdays, and wearing our head scarf ALL day on Sundays. I hate to outwardly admit this, but we are slipping, Ladies!

Realistically, Sex & the City is No Different than Sex in the Suburbs!!

June 4, 2010 - 1:00am - Jennifer Tardy
The new hot release of Sex and the City 2 leaves me with two key thoughts. First, I clearly don’t make enough money! And second, sex in the city is clearly no different than sex in the suburbs…or anywhere else in the U.S. for that matter. Every one is going through it and this movie confirms it.
Appreciate it or not, we are all judged everywhere, with everything we do, and every decision we make. Society has created this box and if you and your lifestyle decisions do not fit into this box, then you are instantly judged by others from the outside looking in. The twists and turns that the main characters, Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha, and Miranda all experienced were very closely related to what many women all across the U.S. experience.

What's the best way to verify that your partner is not cheating online?

Ask them and completely trust their answer!

Don't ask and don't snoop. Just trust that you're dating a loyal person.

Words I Live By

“I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.

To do what I’m supposed to do…

And learn what I’m supposed to learn,

In order to be who I’m supposed to be…

And in the end…what God has for me,

Will be precisely what it’s supposed to be…

Just for me.”
