Blame It On Me Lyrics - Chrisette Michelle

February 7, 2010 - 4:12pm - Jennifer Tardy

Sometimes you can work it out, sometimes you can't

Sometimes you're forced to watch everything fall apart

It's outta your hands

Sometimes leaving is easy, sometimes it ain't

Sometimes it hurts to know that loving you had

Is slowly fading away

You can say whatever you like as long as we just say goodbye

Chorus:

Blame it on me, say it's my fault

Say that I left you outside in the cold with a broken heart

I really don't care, I ain't crying no more

Say I'm a liar, a cheater, say anything that you want as long as it's over

I ain't a quitter, I just ain't the type

I tried to see you through

I tired to make it to the finishing line

You thought it was meant to be, I admit so did I

Every once in a while you think you figured it out

Sometimes you're not right

[chorus repeated 2x]

If this is your situation:

This  song is the Ladies Anthem for "walking-up-out-of-it." A woman will walk away from an unhealthy relationship when she has had enough (i.e. when she is fed up). It's not necessarily when she tells her man that she is through that she is actually done, but it's when she SHOWS him that he can't walk his way back in or manipulate his way back into the relationship, is when she means business!

When this song first aired, I almost fell out of my seat trying to turn the volume up! There are few songs that can so easily resonate with me upon my first time hearing it...and this is one of them. My heart goes out to any woman [or man for that matter] that is walking up out of a bad relationship. This is one of the most difficult steps to cleansing yourself. This is the step when you've realized that you've done all that you can do for him and this relationship (and this is clearly not where you are supposed to be in your life).

At this time, it doesn't matter if the world looks at you like you are CRAZY because you've walked away from the father of your children, you've walked away from the man who paid all of your bills, you've walked away from the man who gave you such a lavish lifestlye, or you've walked away from the man who had potential to be the next President Obama. You don't care! You don't care who knows or who thinks you are a bad person for your decision. You don't even know where you are headed or what is in front of you. All you do know is that this isn't it. (Good for you...keep walking, Girlfriend!)

Words I Live By

“I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.

To do what I’m supposed to do…

And learn what I’m supposed to learn,

In order to be who I’m supposed to be…

And in the end…what God has for me,

Will be precisely what it’s supposed to be…

Just for me.”
