Letters to My Girlfriends: Day 365: Goodbye, My Girlfriends...
Submitted by Jennifer Tardy on December 31, 2011 - 2:13pm
Ugh! Saying goodbye is not an easy thing to do. It has never been! Letters to my Girlfriends has become so much grander than I could have ever imagined it could or would be. What once started as a simple gesture to connect with 50 women has now grown to an inspirational movement exposed to over 3,000 people on a daily basis. I've received letters, text messages, and phone calls where I've heard that my girlfriends (all of you) have both laughed and cried to what they've read each morning. I am very appreciative of all of the growth, the connections, and the feedback. You've made this journey such an amazing one for me and I am forever indebted to you for your faithfulness.
Letters to My Girlfriends: Day 364: 7 Things I Wish To Say...

I feel like there is so much more to say, Girlfriends. I don't know if I've told you this, but I keep lists and lists of topics I've been inspired to write. I'd love to be able to share each and every topic with you, but these letters will come to an end on tomorrow. So, in honor of you and our friendship, I want to use this one letter and share with you seven additional topics I wish I could have shared more in depth. My wishes are that you are able to take away as much love as possible while reading. Perhaps, I will write each of these topics in depth one day, but for now the lessons are too important to miss.
Letters to My Girlfriends: Day 363: Why Can't It Be Both?

As we speak, I am on a two-week vacation. I'm enjoying my travels while spending time with family and friends. Just the other day, I happened to be sitting on the bed talking with my cousin. I said, "I miss my honey, but I'm sure he's enjoying his freedom while I'm away." She stopped me and said, "Just because he's enjoying his free time without you around, what makes you think he doesn't miss you?"
That is when I had my light bulb moment. Why does it have to be one or the other? Why can't it be both? Why can't he be thoroughly enjoying his time without me and still miss me?
I think we all have a tendency to think like that at times. We think that every decision must be one thing or another, but in reality, there are some things that can be both.
Letters to My Girlfriends: Day 362: Setting Yourself Up...

I observe people set themselves up. And although I wish I could say that I've watched them set their selves up for success, it is often that I watch others set their selves up to be unsuccessful. I've been guilty of it before... mostly while in college. I would know in advance that I had a project due in school and I would wait until the last minute to get it done. Finally, when I would have only one day remaining to complete my project, I would get invited to a party. Here's when I would convince myself that I would only go out for a little while and when I returned home, I'd take care of my homework at that time. But guess what would happen? I would go out, have a ton of fun, and I would stay out. I would be so exhausted upon returning home that I would go straight to bed.
Letters to My Girlfriends: Day 361: Certain Things Cannot Be Rushed...

As you know, there are times where I write to you on the same morning I deliver a letter to you. Other times, I write a letter of inspiration the night before. I do this to balance my time; however, I can remember a few times where I've either been pressed for time, or I've been very tired and should have been resting at night. In either circumstance, I've caught myself attempting to rush through the finish of a letter just so I could get one out to you. But I couldn't. I knew that you would see right through the rushed inspiration. It would not benefit either me or you and so I would begin to become a little more focused and take my time (regardless of the time) to complete a letter to you, Girlfriends. After all, you deserve it.
