Everything to Me - Monica
Submitted by Jennifer Tardy on April 6, 2010 - 9:18pmBoy if you ever left my,
My side,
It’d be like taking the sun from
The sky
I’d probably die without
You in
My life
Cause I need you to
Shine, shine
Your light
oooohhhhhhh
You're everything to me, heey
The air that I breathe, oohhh
My sight so I see, oh lord
You’re everything to me
I can’t repay you for all that you've done
Always come first and second to none
The love that you give me is equal to ten
My peace, my joy
You are my
My strength ooohhhh
You’re everything to me, whoa
The air that I breathe, ooooohhh
My sight so I see, ohhh that
You’re everything to me
(Boy I never thought) Never thought I’d feel a love like this
Better than our 1st date
Sweeter than our 1st kiss (and you)
Aint no other person for me
You're my best friend
My lover
(Baby you're) My everything
You’re everything to me, whoa
The air that I breathe, ooooohhh
My sight so I see ohhh
That you're everything to me

She’s feeling it—in this song, in the video—the lyrics. She’s feeling what a good and healthy relationship can actually be. I love every minute of this song. Every time I hear this song I think to myself that everyone deserves to know what this feels like. Every single person deserves this feeling. Read those key words she uses to describe how she feels while with him: peace, joy, strength, equality, sweetness, and more.
Over the last couple of weeks I’ve been asked what real love feels like. If God is Love and God is Peace, then love is peace. In one word, love should feel… “peaceful.” This peace comes from the companionship, the loyalty, the trust…the promise. She says, “Never thought I’d feel a love like this.” But, how many of us really do? All you can do is appreciate it when it arrives. If you are in a relationship, are you providing this peace, or disturbing it? Are you receiving this peace, or blocking it?
Ask yourself, "Am I worthy of this type of love; this type of peace?" Then answer yourself, "—Absolutely!" If you have yet to receive it, simply trust that it is on its way to you. In the meantime, take this type of love and give it to the one(s) you are with, presently: your siblings, friends, children, and parents…a stranger. As I said before, everyone deserves it and someone out there may be waiting to receive it from you.
