Letters to My Girlfriends: Day 359: Do You Know Better?

There is no reason to keep on having the same unpleasant experiences over and over, Girlfriends. You now know better. Isn't that right? You now know how to make a different and perhaps a better decision. You've learned the way most of us do...through trial and error and you are ready to make some changes in your life. I'm so proud of you. To know better requires you to do better. But, for all of my girlfriends who are still experiencing the same unpleasant experiences over and over, there is one thing I would like to share with you this morning.
You cannot LIVE better, until you DO better through KNOWING better because you've LEARNED better. Do all of this because you know that you ARE better. You are better than any of the unpleasant situations happening around you. Demonstrate to yourself that you can choose better for you and that you can rise to the occasion for yourself.
There is a process to all of the madness that it occurring in your life. You are learning how to live better. You are learning how to make decisions that best suit the person you wish to be instead of the person who is involved in your current situation. How many times must you place your bare hand on that piping hot stove before you stop? You got burned first time because you didn't know the stove was hot. You got burned the second time because you convinced yourself that the heat wasn't so bad the first time. You got burned the third time because you tried to trick the stove into cooling down. When will you learn?
You must learn better to know better to do better in order to LIVE better. It is a simple process. You've got to trust the process! Pay attention to what life is teaching you. It could be about following the wrong crowds, addictions, going to the wrong places, trusting the wrong people. Learn to make better decisions otherwise you will always end up where you started. And unless that is where you truly want to be, you are doing yourself a big injustice.
Happy Holidays!
