Letters to My Girlfriends: Day 365: Goodbye, My Girlfriends...

December 31, 2011 - 2:13pm - Jennifer Tardy

ImageUgh! Saying goodbye is not an easy thing to do. It has never been! Letters to my Girlfriends has become so much grander than I could have ever imagined it could or would be. What once started as a simple gesture to connect with 50 women has now grown to an inspirational movement exposed to over 3,000 people on a daily basis. I've received letters, text messages, and phone calls where I've heard that my girlfriends (all of you) have both laughed and cried to what they've read each morning. I am very appreciative of all of the growth, the connections, and the feedback. You've made this journey such an amazing one for me and I am forever indebted to you for your faithfulness.

You are all my girlfriends and you are amazing! If you haven't gotten anything out of our shared letters, please take this one thing with you. Always remember your amazing-ness! You are more remarkable than you know, intelligent than you believe, and stronger than you can ever imagine. You were made for the best, the highest quality, and the deepest abundance. All of life is waiting on is you. All you have to do is step out on faith and step into the masterful, fearless, and sharp woman that you really are. My prayer is that whether you decide to stay connected to me in the future, you will always keep these truths near.

Now, as you recall, the purpose of Letters to my Girlfriends was to allow me to stay connected to all of my girlfriends wherever they lived around the world. My goal was to keep them inspired as often as I was able. And fortunately, I was able to connect with you girls every single day this year. I am proud of that. I am proud of me. And I am grateful for each of you who have taken this journey with me. When my girlfriends ask me if December 31, 2011 will be the very last time they will hear from me, I respond the same way. I say, "To stop connecting with you all now would completely defeat my original purpose."

"This is not the end. This is not the beginning of the end. But this is the end of the beginning." - Unknown

With that, you should know that this is just the beginning of my journey to staying connected to all of you and inspiring you...my beautiful girlfriends. Always know that if you are seeking inspiration via Letters to my Girlfriends, please follow me online. Now, in the New Year; however, I want to inspire you in a spanking new way. I am going to change things up a bit. Aside from these letters, my plans are to inspire you by practicing what I've always preached.

In 2012, my goal is to do twelve things that I never thought that I could do, be, or have!

My goal is to spend 2012 living outside of my comfort zone, trying things I've always wanted to try, pushing myself to the limit and finally, sharing these stories with each of you with an underlying principle that if I can do something I've always wanted to do...SO CAN YOU!

I'm placing my money where my mouth is with hope that you'll be inspired in a new way! I want to prove that you can be whoever you want to be and have all of the experiences you wish to have in this lifetime. I am no different from you. As a matter of fact, I am you. I was born with the same equipment, raised with the same insecurities, and facing a society who challenges me in the same manner as it challenges you. I want to live my life for a living and my prayer is that you find a similar journey and you are aware of the promises it offers.

To get us started, I'll tell you the first thing I did in order to bring in the New Year. I CUT ALL OF MY HAIR OFF! Soon, you'll hear my story. You'll read why I did it, what took me so long to finally get to the point of doing it, what it meant to me, and what is next on my bucket list!

See, Girlfriends, that is the funny thing about life. It is a lot grander than we could have ever imagined. Imagine how exciting it would be if we actually took chances on it. In 2012, start taking chances with me. We'll be here for one another. We will support one another. We'll LIVE. It is our primary way of thanking God for life. We live!

So, as I bid adieu to our traditional Letters to my Girlfriends, please know that I am saying HELLO to a new year, a new me, and a new level of inspiring stories to share with you. Always find inspiration and then share inspiration. It is your responsibility. It keeps the world moving, it keeps it growing, it keeps us sharing love. Don't stop the movement. I promise...I'll see you in the New Year! Cheers to my Girlfriends and the promise that New Year has for each of you!

You are loved!

Words I Live By

“I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.

To do what I’m supposed to do…

And learn what I’m supposed to learn,

In order to be who I’m supposed to be…

And in the end…what God has for me,

Will be precisely what it’s supposed to be…

Just for me.”
