Let me take you behind the scenes for a moment. Let’s go into a part of my world I don’t always talk about, but that’s deeply tied to everything I stand for.

When people ask me what I do, I often say I help workplaces increase diversity…without harm. And I do. But what I don’t always say out loud is that I do this while also raising two amazing sons, managing a household as a single parent, and carrying the mental load that comes with being “the heartbeat of home.”

This newsletter is different. Today, I’m not just writing to you as a diversity recruiting strategist, business owner, or workplace equity advocate.

I’m writing to you as a nurturer.
And maybe…(just maybe) you are one too.

Who is the nurturer?

They carry what no one else sees.

They anticipate needs. Softens edges. Fills in gaps - at home, at work, in her community.

Not because they have endless time or energy. But because they’re wired to care.

They are the planner. The provider. The peacekeeper. The pulse.

Rarely celebrated. Always counted on.

So here’s the question I had to ask myself:

What if I was nurtured, too?
What would it look like to receive the same level of support I so easily gave to others?

The idea for EchoMom™ was born when I read a line in We Should All Be Millionaires that changed me. Rachel Rodgers talked about hiring a mommy’s helper, and it hit me: I deserved support. Not because I was a millionaire at the time, but so that I could one day become one if I wanted to. So, I took a chance, even when I wasn’t sure I could afford it. Over time, that helper evolved into something much deeper: a homestyle partner, a soft place to land. An EchoMom.
